By Bus

Market City (Agora) Bus Terminal serves all eastern (Balingoan, Gingoog, Butuan) and southern (Bukidnon, Davao) routes from Cagayan de Oro City.  It is approximately a kilometer away from Limketkai Mall . There are several bus companies that ply the route going to Balingoan.  Bus routes going to Butuan City passes by Balingoan town.  It will take you approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes bus ride and costs around 130 Pesos (air conditioned bus) per person.  First trip is at 4:00am, followed by 5:00am, 6:00am, 7:00am and after which buses leave every 30 minutes.  If you are taking the Butuan bus route, inform the conductor or bus driver that you need to stop in Balingoan for Camiguin.

Buses usually stop at the Balingoan Bus Terminal approximately 150 meters away from the Balingoan Ferry Port.  It is possible to walk going to the port if you don't have much luggage to carry.

By Taxi
Another alternative is hiring a taxi.  Most taxis would ask for a flat rate of around 3,000 Pesos.  Rates have been fluctuating due to gas prices.  Just try to negotiate if they are willing to go lower.

By Hired Van
There are hired vans (airconditioned) parked along the Market City (Agora) terminal and even in the Airport terminal.  Each van can accommodate around 10 to 12 people for a rate of  around 2,500 to 3,500 Pesos (rates fluctuating due to gas prices).  You can request in advance for a hired van to pick you up in Cagayan de Oro Airport and go straight to Balingoan Wharf or vice versa (for bothways you can negotiate for a lower rate).   For details contact Marlyn through her mobile number at +63 926 7821719

Balingoan Ferry Schedules

There are three ports of entry in Camiguin, namely: Benoni, Guinsiliban and Balbagon.  From Balingoan, Benoni is a much preferred choice since it is nearer to Mambajao, the main town of Camiguin.  Though the distance between Benoni and Guinsiliban Port is approximately 10 kilometers.  Mambajao is approximately 25 kilometers, north of Benoni Port.  Dolphins can be seen occasionally along the Camiguin Channel.

The ferry crossing is approximately 1 hour.  However,
depending on sea conditions, the ferry might take longer to cross the channel.  During tropical storms or bad weather, ferry services are canceled.

Ferry fare per person ranges from 100 to 135 Pesos including children.  If you want to transport a vehicle to Camiguin Island, you have to get clearance from the local Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) and Municipal office which are conveniently located within the Balingoan port.  Prepare you vehicle documents and licenses.  Clearance will cost you around 192 Pesos (for update).  Rolling cargo (vehicle) rates vary depending on the size and the shipping lines.  For a regular sedan type vehicle, it costs around 750 Pesos (for update), while a family van or Pajero type vehicle costs around 850 Pesos (for update).  This already covers the driver's fare (free ferry fare).
